MALAYSIA, 27 August 2024 – The Palawan National School (PNS) Chorale once again showcased their musical excellence, earning top honors in two major international choir competitions. Competing at the Borneo International Chorale Festival in Malaysia from August 23 to 27, 2024, the PNS Chorale emerged as Champion in the Senior High School Category, alongside receiving the prestigious Spirit of Commitment Award. Their outstanding performances placed them among the Grand Prix Finalists, further solidifying their reputation as one of the finest choirs in the competition, which featured choirs from five different countries.

The PNS Chorale’s journey continued at the Penabur International Choir Festival in Jakarta, Indonesia, held from September 9 to 13, 2024, where they competed against 174 choirs from around the globe. Their hard work paid off, as they brought home a Silver Medal in the Senior High School Category and a Gold Medal in the Mix Youth Category, adding to their growing list of achievements on the international stage.

Jay Gomez, the PNS Chorale’s conductor, praised the choir’s dedication and passion, which allowed them to balance their academic responsibilities with intense rehearsals. “These victories are not only a testament to the talent of our students but also to the unwavering support from the school administration, parents, and the entire PNS community,” said Gomez. “We are deeply honored to represent both Palawan National School and the Philippines on these international platforms.”
